Cook for the Cure

Susan G. Komen® Central Indiana:

As the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to fighting breast cancer in the world, Susan G. Komen® is empowered by individual efforts at the local level. We are proud to channel our longstanding support through the organization’s Central Indiana affiliate, with activities including personal volunteer work, pro bono marketing and creative consultation, plus an annual fundraising event.

Every year since 2002, we have invited our community, clients and colleagues to Miller Brooks’ Cook for the Cure. It has grown into a gathering centered around spirited culinary competition and ample opportunities to donate. To date, we have raised over $120,000 for a cause that’s directly touched our own staff, family and friends.

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity:

For years, Miller Brooks has been on the job site and around the table giving strong support to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Indianapolis. We’ve sponsored specific builds, offered marketing consultation and worked to bring extra attention to some truly significant milestones in the organization’s growth.

In 2012, we helped promote Greater Indianapolis Habitat’s 25th anniversary. In 2014, they were just one of four U.S. affiliates chosen to receive funding from Lowe’s Community Impact Grant. We were privileged to lend a hand in developing the proposal and securing large corporate sponsorships. By executing a plan incorporating our PR and marketing support, we helped drive awareness of local neighborhood revitalization efforts. All to make some recent big years even bigger.

Chuckstrong

ChuckStrong:

Hosted by the Indianapolis Colts and Head Coach Chuck Pagano, the Chuckstrong Tailgate Gala is a high-profile, intentionally informal fundraiser benefitting the IU Simon Cancer Center (IUSCC). We are incredibly honored to be part of a community-wide effort behind a premier charity event that raised $1.1 million in its 2013 inaugural year.

In addition to playing a role on the initial planning committee, plus donating the event’s logo design, we remain connected to the annual event. Our president and CEO, Barbie Wentworth, continues to serve on the IUSCC Development Board. Our team is pleased to be an ongoing gala sponsor, as well as a source of ideas to help make it a repeat success.
